If you own a boat or an RV in Venice, FL, you already know that finding a place to keep it is half the battle. Driveways are short, HOA rules are strict, and marina space near the water goes fast. We have a fenced boat and RV storage lot right next to our upholstery shop, and this post covers what it is, who it suits, and why keeping your boat where it gets worked on makes life easier.
What the lot offers
The storage yard sits beside our shop at 420 E Venice Ave, less than 500 feet from the Venice Train Station and just minutes from the Gulf. It is a fenced, well-kept lot with wide turning space, so getting a trailered boat or a full-size motorhome in and out is straightforward.
- Space for boats up to 40 feet in length on their trailers
- Room for RVs, campers, fifth-wheels and utility trailers
- Short-term parking between trips and long-term storage for the season or the year
- Six-month contract terms, so you are not locked in for longer than you need
- Trailer parking for customers dropping a boat off for upholstery work
- Free quotes on storage, the same as on our upholstery work

Who uses it
Seasonal residents are a big part of it. If you spend the summer up north, the boat or camper needs somewhere to sit from May to November, and a fenced lot minutes from the water is better than a driveway three states away. Full-time locals use it because their neighborhood does not allow a boat in the driveway, or because they are between a sold house and a new one. And a lot of our upholstery customers simply leave the boat with us for a few extra days or weeks while a seat rebuild or a new cover is finished.
Boats from center consoles to pontoons, cabin boats and deck boats come through, along with everything from pop-up campers to Class A motorhomes.
Why storing next to an upholstery shop matters
This is the part that sets our lot apart from a plain storage yard. While your boat or RV is parked with us, we can do the upholstery work it needs without you hauling it anywhere else.
For boats, that means new seat cushions, helm seats and leaning posts, a custom marine cover, T-top canvas or clear vinyl enclosure panels, all built in marine-grade vinyl and Sunbrella with stainless hardware. For RVs and campers, it means dinette cushions, sofa beds, captain's chairs and mattresses, the soft interior parts that wear out long before the rig does. You drop it off once, we work on it while it sits, and it is ready when you are.
Our full range of boat upholstery services and RV and other services is on the site.

How drop-off works
Call ahead so we can confirm there is a space for your length and set a time. Bring the boat on its trailer or drive the RV in during shop hours, Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and we will show you where it goes. If you are combining storage with upholstery work, walk us through what needs doing while the boat is right there, so we can measure, check the foam and pull cushions on the spot. Pick-up is the same: give us a call and the boat will be ready at the gate.
Storing a boat in Florida: what to do before it sits
A boat that sits for months in Southwest Florida needs a little preparation, whether it is in our lot or anywhere else.
- Put a fitted cover on it. Sun and daily rain are what ruin upholstery, and a custom-fit cover is the single best protection. A loose tarp traps moisture and chafes the vinyl.
- Clean and dry the cushions before covering. Salt and sunscreen left on vinyl will stain and attract mildew.
- Stand loose cushions on edge or take them home so they are not sitting in trapped water.
- Vent the cover if the boat will sit for a long stretch, so humidity can escape.
- Check the trailer tires and straps before you leave it.
If the cover or the seats are the problem, that is exactly what we can fix while the boat is here. Our Bennington pontoon cover project shows what a proper fitted cover looks like.
Storing an RV: the soft interior
RV interiors suffer in storage too. Heat builds up inside a closed camper, foam cushions go flat and dry out, and fabrics fade near the windows. Pull the cushions off the frames or stand them up so air moves around them, crack the vents, and run a dehumidifier if the rig has power. If the dinette or the bed has already gone flat, read our guide to camper bed padding and let us rebuild it while the camper is parked with us.
Protecting what you own
A boat or RV is not just a vehicle. It is the reason you moved to the coast, or the thing that gets you out of town. Keeping it in a fenced lot minutes from the water, next to a family-owned shop that can keep it in good shape, is a simple way to protect it between trips. We serve boaters and RV owners from Venice, Nokomis, Osprey, Englewood, North Port and Sarasota, and we were voted Best Upholstery Service in the Venice Gondolier's Best of Venice 2024.
