Golf Cart Seat Upholstery – Custom Seats, Repairs & Shuttle Carts in Venice, FL
We proudly serve Venice, FL and the surrounding area, including Nokomis, Osprey, Englewood, North Port, Port Charlotte, Rotonda West, Boca Grande, Punta Gorda, Sarasota and beyond.
Why Golf Cart Seats Wear Out in Florida
Venice, North Port and the Wellen Park communities run on golf carts, and most of those carts live outside. Sun chalks the vinyl, rain soaks the foam and the seams split where you slide in and out. Apogee Upholstery rebuilds golf cart seats at our shop in Venice, FL for owners across Sarasota and Charlotte counties.
We strip the old cover, replace the foam and sew a new one in marine-grade vinyl with UV-resistant thread, in factory colors or a two-tone or diamond-stitched design. Seat bottoms and backs unbolt in minutes, so most owners drop them off; if you would rather bring the cart, there is room in our fenced lot.
Carts live outside
A golf cart rarely sees a garage. Sun, rain and dew work on the seats every day, and automotive vinyl is not built for it.
Foam that soaks up rain
Open-cell foam under a cracked cover soaks up water and never dries. The seat goes flat and musty, and a new cover fails from underneath.
Seams fail before vinyl
Ordinary thread rots in the sun long before the vinyl does. UV-resistant bonded thread makes the seams last as long as the cover.
Marine vinyl, not automotive
We use the UV-stabilized, mildew-resistant marine vinyl that goes on boat seats, because a cart in Venice sees the same weather.

Our Golf Cart Seat Upholstery Services

Front & Rear Bench Seats
Seat bottoms and backs are rebuilt on new foam and re-covered in marine vinyl, in the original color or something new. Rear-facing flip seats and footrest pads are done to match.
- New foam cut to the original profile
- Marine-grade vinyl in dozens of colors
- Rear flip seats and footrest pads

Custom Two-Tone & Diamond-Stitch Designs
This is where a cart stops looking like every other one in the community: two-tone panels, diamond-stitched inserts, contrast piping and embroidered logos, matched to the body color or your club.
- Two-tone and three-tone color layouts
- Diamond stitch and pleated inserts
- Contrast piping and embroidery

Golf Cart Seat Repair
If one seam has split or one panel has sun-rotted and the rest of the seat is still supple, we sew in a matching panel rather than re-cover the whole seat.
- Seam re-stitching in UV-resistant thread
- Single panel replacement in matched vinyl
- Honest advice when a re-cover is the better call

Armrests, Consoles & Dash Pads
Armrests, cup-holder consoles and padded dash tops crack in the sun like the seats do. We re-wrap them in matching vinyl so the cart reads as one interior.
- Armrest pads re-covered or rebuilt
- Cup-holder and center consoles re-wrapped
- Dash and grab-bar padding

4-, 6- & 8-Seater Shuttle Carts
Stretched carts for resorts, clubs and large families carry four to eight people on several benches. We rebuild every row to match, as on the 8-seater shown here.
- All rows patterned and matched
- Heavy-use vinyl for resort and club carts
- Rear-facing and fold-down rows

Matching Cart Covers & Enclosures
New seats deserve to stay dry. We build fitted storage covers and rain enclosures with clear vinyl windows in the same fabrics we use for boat canvas.
- Fitted storage covers
- Rain enclosures with clear vinyl windows
- Matched to the seats or body color

Materials We Use
- Marine-grade vinyl
- UV-stabilized, mildew-resistant vinyl with a cold-crack rating, in smooth, textured and perforated finishes.
- High-density foam
- Firmer foam than the factory used, cut to the original profile so the bench holds its shape.
- UV-resistant thread
- Bonded polyester thread that does not rot in the sun, so the seam outlasts the vinyl.
- Stainless staples and hardware
- Staples, hinges and fasteners that do not rust-streak the seat base or the body.
Our Process
- 1
Photos and a quote
Send photos of the seats through the contact page or stop by with the cart. We quote by seat, so you can do the fronts now and the rear later.
- 2
Drop off the seats or the cart
Seat bottoms and backs unbolt in minutes and fit in a trunk. Or park the cart in our fenced lot and we pull them here.
- 3
Foam, vinyl and stitch style
Old foam comes out and new foam is cut to the profile. You pick the vinyl color and any two-tone or diamond-stitch layout from shop samples.
- 4
Sew, fit and reinstall
Covers are sewn in UV-resistant thread, pulled tight over the new foam and stapled with stainless staples, then the seats go back on the cart.

Golf Cart Seat Upholstery FAQ
Do I need to bring the whole golf cart?
No. Seat bottoms and backs unbolt from the frame in a few minutes and fit in a car trunk, which is how most owners bring them. Otherwise, drive or trailer the cart to the shop and we will remove the seats here, with a fenced lot for carts left overnight.
What vinyl do you use on golf cart seats?
Marine-grade vinyl, the same UV-stabilized, mildew-resistant material we put on boat seats. A golf cart parked outside in Venice sees the same sun and rain a boat does, and automotive vinyl chalks and cracks under it. It comes in dozens of colors and smooth, textured and perforated finishes.
Can you match my cart's body color or my club's colors?
Yes. Two-tone layouts, diamond-stitched inserts, contrast piping and embroidered logos are all built here. Bring the cart or a photo and we will pull vinyl samples that match the body, wheels or your community's colors and lay out the design before anything is cut.
Can you repair one split seam instead of redoing the seat?
If the rest of the vinyl is still supple, yes. We re-stitch the seam in UV-resistant thread or sew in a replacement panel of matching vinyl. If the vinyl cracks when folded, a repair will not hold and we will tell you a re-cover is the better investment.
Do you do 6- and 8-seater shuttle carts?
Yes. Stretched shuttle carts for resorts, clubs and large families are a regular project, including the 8-seater featured on this site. Every row is patterned and matched, rear-facing and fold-down benches included, in heavy-use vinyl that stands up to a season of guests.
