Pontoon Boat Upholstery – Reupholster Pontoon Seats in Venice, FL
We proudly serve Venice, FL and the surrounding area, including Nokomis, Osprey, Englewood, North Port, Port Charlotte, Rotonda West, Boca Grande, Punta Gorda, Sarasota and beyond.
Why Pontoon Seats Wear Out Faster in Florida
A pontoon is the most seating per foot of any boat on the water, which is exactly why its upholstery fails first. Bow lounges, L-groups, the captain's chair and the rear sun deck all sit in full sun from spring to fall, and Florida humidity works on the foam from underneath. Apogee Upholstery reupholsters pontoon and tritoon seating section by section or as a complete interior at our shop in Venice, FL.
We pattern every cushion from the original, replace the foam with closed-cell marine foam, repair or replace rotted base boards, and sew new covers in marine-grade vinyl with UV-resistant thread. The result fits the furniture frames the way the factory interior did, with the color combination you choose. Owners trailer to us from Englewood, North Port, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Nokomis and Sarasota, and there is room to leave the pontoon on the trailer while we work.
More vinyl, more sun
A 22-foot pontoon can carry eight to twelve seating sections. Every one of them fades, chalks and cracks on the same schedule, so one tired corner usually means the rest are close behind.
Foam that holds water
Original open-cell foam soaks up rain and spray, sags, and grows mildew under the cover. New closed-cell marine foam stays dry and keeps its shape.
Rotted base boards
Many pontoon cushions sit on plywood that rots from the bottom up. We replace bad boards with marine-grade or composite boards so the new cover has something solid to attach to.
A layout you can change
Reupholstery is the moment to switch to two-tone, add pleats or diamond stitch inserts, or match a new canvas color.

Our Pontoon Upholstery Services

Bow Lounges & L-Group Seating
The forward lounges take the most spray and the most feet. We rebuild each section with new foam, fresh base boards where needed and hinged lids that close cleanly over the storage below.
- Section-by-section patterns from the originals
- Closed-cell foam that does not hold water
- Hinges, snaps and lid hardware checked and replaced

Captain's Chair & Helm Seating
The helm chair gets more hours of use than any other seat on the boat. We rebuild the seat and back with firmer foam, re-cover in matching vinyl and inspect the pedestal and swivel.
- Firmer foam for long days at the wheel
- Flip-up bolsters and armrests re-covered
- Pedestal and swivel hardware inspected

Rear Bench, Sun Deck & Bar Seating
Rear benches, sun pads over the engine well and bar-height seating need thicker foam and tighter corners. We box and welt every seam so the pad holds its shape.
- Custom foam thickness for sun pads
- Welted or piped seams for a factory look
- Quick-drying construction

Two-Tone, Pleats & Diamond Stitch Upgrades
If you want the boat to look newer than it did from the dealer, this is where it happens. Two-tone panels, pleated inserts or a diamond-stitched accent on each section, aligned across the whole interior.
- Color combinations matched to the fence and bimini
- Diamond stitch and pleat inserts
- Logo or name embroidery on request

Pontoon Covers & Bimini Tops
New seats deserve protection. We build playpen-style and full trailerable pontoon covers plus bimini tops from the same shop, patterned to the fence, gates and bimini layout.
- Playpen and full mooring covers
- Bimini top replacement canvas
- Bundle discount when ordered with seating

Single-Section Repairs
If only one lounge back or one lid is torn, we repair or re-cover that section and match the existing color as closely as the material allows.
- One section at a time if that is all you need
- Seam re-stitching and panel replacement
- Honest advice on when the rest will follow

Materials We Use
- Marine-grade vinyl
- UV-stabilized, mildew-resistant vinyl in matte, textured and perforated finishes, in the colors pontoon builders use plus many they do not.
- Closed-cell marine foam
- Does not absorb water, keeps density and prevents the mildew pockets that form under original foam.
- Marine-grade base boards
- Marine plywood or composite boards replace rotted bases so the cushion has a solid, rot-proof foundation.
- Stainless staples and hardware
- Staples, hinges and snaps that do not rust-streak the deck.
Our Process
- 1
Photos and a quote
Send photos of each seating section through the contact page or bring the boat by. We quote by section so you can decide what to do now and what can wait.
- 2
Patterns from your furniture
Cushions are patterned from the originals on your frames. Every lid, back and bolster is treated as its own pattern.
- 3
Foam, boards and hardware
Old foam comes out, rotted base boards are replaced, hinges and snaps are checked. You choose vinyl colors and stitch style from samples in the shop.
- 4
Sewing and assembly
Covers are sewn with UV-rated thread, boxed corners and welting where the original had it, then stapled to fresh boards with stainless staples.
- 5
Fit and pickup
Everything is fitted back on the boat and checked with you before you trailer it home.

Pontoon Boat Upholstery FAQ
How much does it cost to reupholster pontoon boat seats?
It depends on how many sections the boat has, whether the foam and base boards need replacing, and the vinyl and stitch style you choose. A single lounge back is a small job; a full tritoon interior is a multi-week project. We quote section by section after seeing the boat or clear photos, so you can do it all at once or in stages.
Can you reupholster just one section of my pontoon?
Yes. We regularly re-cover a single lounge, lid or captain's chair and match the existing color as closely as the material allows. We will also tell you honestly if the other sections are close to failing.
Do you replace the plywood under pontoon cushions?
When it is rotted or soft, yes. We replace bad base boards with marine plywood or composite board before the new foam and vinyl go on. Re-covering over a rotten board is a short-lived repair.
How long does a pontoon interior take?
A few sections usually take about a week once materials are in. A full interior typically takes two to three weeks depending on the size of the boat and our schedule. You get a timeline with the quote.
Do you make pontoon covers too?
Yes. We build playpen-style and full trailerable pontoon covers and replacement bimini canvas, patterned to your fence and bimini layout, and offer a bundle discount when a cover is ordered with seating.
