Overview

Why Powersports Seats Fail in Florida

A powersports seat is one piece of foam and one piece of vinyl between you and a long day. Motorcycle saddles go flat, ATV seats split at the corners and jet ski seats soak up water through a cracked seam. Apogee Upholstery re-covers, reshapes and repairs motorcycle, ATV, UTV, dirt bike, scooter and jet ski seats at our shop in Venice, FL.

Every seat gets the foam it needs first, whether that means reshaping a saddle or replacing waterlogged PWC foam with closed-cell, then a new cover in grippy marine vinyl sewn with UV-resistant thread. Diamond stitch, two-tone and embroidery are done in-house. Riders come from Nokomis, Englewood, North Port, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda and Sarasota.

  • Sun rots vinyl and thread

A seat left in the sun chalks, hardens and cracks, and the thread goes first. UV-inhibited marine vinyl and bonded UV thread are built for it.

  • Water gets into the foam

One split seam on a jet ski or ATV seat lets water into open-cell foam that never dries. We replace it with closed-cell foam that does not absorb water.

  • Flat foam ruins the ride

A packed-down saddle puts you on the pan. Reshaping or replacing the foam fixes the comfort problem a cover alone cannot.

  • Grip matters when it is wet

Smooth vinyl on a jet ski or dirt bike is a slide. We use textured vinyl on the saddle and smoother panels where you want them.

Motorcycle Seat Re-Cover & Foam Reshaping

We strip the saddle to the pan, reshape or replace the foam, add a gel or memory-foam layer if you want one, and sew a new cover in grippy vinyl in the stitch pattern you choose.

  • Foam reshaped, lowered or built up
  • Gel and memory-foam inserts
  • Custom stitch lines and piping

ATV & UTV Seats

ATV and side-by-side seats take mud, rain and a pressure washer every weekend. We rebuild them in heavy-duty marine vinyl with sealed seams and foam that stays dry.

  • Heavy-duty textured marine vinyl
  • Sealed, waterproof seams
  • Bench, bucket and bolstered UTV seats

Jet Ski & PWC Seats

Jet ski seats split at the seams, soak up water and get heavy. We re-cover Sea-Doo, Yamaha and Kawasaki seats on closed-cell foam in textured marine vinyl, plain, diamond-stitched or two-tone.

  • Closed-cell foam that does not absorb water
  • Textured, grippy marine vinyl
  • Sea-Doo, Yamaha, Kawasaki and older PWC

Diamond Stitch, Two-Tone & Embroidery

Make the seat the best-looking part of the machine: diamond-stitched inserts, two-tone panels, contrast piping and embroidered logos or names, laid out to suit the seat.

  • Diamond stitch and pleated inserts
  • Two-tone and contrast piping
  • Logo and name embroidery

Seam & Sun-Rot Repair

If one seam has split and the vinyl is still supple, we re-stitch it in UV-resistant thread or sew in a replacement panel. If the vinyl cracks when folded, a re-cover is the smarter spend.

  • Seam re-stitching in UV-rated thread
  • Matched replacement panels

Dirt Bike & Scooter Seats

Dirt bike seats need grip and a cover that survives a fall; scooter seats need to shed rain and look sharp. Both get textured vinyl, reinforced seams and fresh foam.

  • Gripper vinyl for dirt bikes
  • Taller or lower foam
  • Scooter and moped seats

How it works

Our Process

  1. 1

    Photos and a quote

Send photos of the seat through the contact page or bring it by. Tell us about comfort as well as the cover; the foam is where that gets fixed.

  2. 2

    Drop off the seat

Seats unbolt or unlatch in minutes and fit in a car. Bring the seat alone, or the machine if you prefer; there is room in our fenced lot.

  3. 3

    Foam, vinyl and design

Foam is reshaped or replaced, you pick vinyl texture and color, and any diamond stitch, two-tone or embroidery is laid out before cutting.

  4. 4

    Sew, fit and return

Covers are sewn in UV-resistant thread, stretched over the foam, stapled to the pan with stainless staples and checked at pickup.

FAQ

Motorcycle, ATV & Jet Ski Seats FAQ

Can you make my motorcycle seat more comfortable?

Yes. Most comfort complaints are foam, not cover. We reshape the saddle to spread your weight, lower or raise the seat and add a gel or memory-foam layer if you want one, then re-cover it. Tell us what hurts and how far you ride; we build the foam around that.

My jet ski seat is heavy and waterlogged. Can it be saved?

The cover usually cannot, but the seat can. Water gets in through a split seam and open-cell foam holds it. We strip the cover, fit closed-cell foam that does not absorb water and sew a new cover in textured marine vinyl, plain or diamond-stitched.

What vinyl do you use on powersports seats?

Marine-grade vinyl with UV inhibitors and mildew-resistant backing, in textured grip finishes for saddles and smoother finishes for side panels. It is the same material we use on boat seats, because a machine parked outside in Venice sees the same sun and rain.

Can you repair one split seam instead of re-covering the seat?

If the vinyl is still supple, yes. We re-stitch the seam in UV-resistant thread or sew in a matching replacement panel. If the vinyl cracks when you fold it, repairs will chase failures around the seat and a new cover is the better investment.

Do you do diamond stitch and custom designs?

Yes. Diamond-stitched inserts, two-tone panels, contrast piping and embroidered logos or names are all sewn here. We lay the pattern out on your seat so the diamonds and seams land where they look right, and match colors to the machine or hull.

Do I bring the seat or the whole machine?

The seat is enough. Motorcycle, ATV, UTV and jet ski seats unbolt or unlatch in minutes and fit in a car. If you would rather bring the machine, there is a fenced lot at our shop, 420 E Venice Ave, Venice, FL, open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
